Raipur, June 1 (IANS) Maoists attacked a CRPF search party in Chhattisgarh Saturday evening and killed an assistant commandant, police said. The ambush came exactly a week after the deadly attack on a Congress convoy in the Bastar region.
Dhamtari Superintendent of Police Akbar Ram Korram said Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Assistant Commandant S.K. Das was killed in the attack around 4 p.m. close to the force’s camp in Bimla Silli area, some 100 km from here.
The attack came exactly a week after the Maoists attacked a Congress convoy in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar region May 25 in which at least 28 people were killed.
