Mumbai, June 13 (IANS) Actress Priya Anand, who hails from south, is now part of Bollywood films and says language doesn’t create any obstacle for her.
“For me, language has never been the barrier. I want to continue doing films in Tamil and Telugu as well,” Priya, whose next Hindi movie is “Fukrey”, told IANS.
“I want to strike a balance between both the industries. I have people who like me in Tamil and Telugu, so I can’t give up on that,” added the actress, who widened her horizons by doing Sridevi starrer bilingual movie “English Vinglish” and Hindi film “Rangrezz”.
Her next Bollywood project is director Mrighdeep Singh Lamba’s “Fukrey”, Priya wants to explore herself as an actor.
“Mandeep was the first person who saw a Delhi girl in me and that was exciting for me. So I don’t want to limit myself and explore myself as an actress,” said the 26-year-old who has been part of southern movies like “Pugaippadam” and “Leader”.
In the future, she wants to get into production.
The actress, who studied at the University at Albany in the US, said: “I came to India wanting to be an assistant director, but before I started assisting, I got opportunity to be an actress. In future, I may get into production but at least not for five to six years. Now, I want to concentrate on acting.”
“Fukrey” also stars Pulkit Samrat, Richa Chadda, Manjot Singh and is slated for a June 14 release.
