Lucknow, June 26 (IANS) Jagadguru Shri Kripaluji Maharaj-led Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat Wednesday donated Rs.1 crore for the rescue and rehabilitation of Uttarakhand flood victims.
The Parishat has donated the money to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. Ram Puri, a representative of Jagadguru Kripaluji Maharaj, met Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav at his official residence here and handed over demand draft of Rs.1 crore.
“Ram Puri also conveyed the deep condolences of Jagadguru Kripaluji Maharaj on this massive destruction of human life in the state of Uttarakhand,” Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat said in a statement.
A message from Jagadguru Kripaluji Maharaj urging the victims to keep courage and unshakeable faith in god and praising the army soldiers for their valiant efforts in rescuing people was also handed over to chief minister.
Jagadguru Kripaluji Maharaj has expressed hope that those who are still stranded are rescued and quickly brought back to safety, it said.
