New Delhi, June 2 (IANS) Activist-turned-politician and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal will contest directly against Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit in the upcoming Delhi assembly elections, a senior party member said Sunday.
“Kejirwal will contest directly against Dikshit in the upcoming Delhi assembly elections. We have taken the decision after a meeting of its volunteers in the national capital today (Sunday),” Manish Sisodia, a senior party member told IANS.
Dikshit has contested from the New Delhi constituency in the past.
“Dikshit is the driving force of corruption and she should be directly contested by Arvind Kejriwal. If Dikshit tends to change her constituency from New Delhi, then he (Kejriwal) will also change is constituency,” Sisodia added.
AAP also released the first shortlist of 44 probable candidates for 12 seats in the forthcoming Delhi Assembly elections, November this year.
