ITF Tennis: Hung knocks out Sood

Coimbatore, June 12 (IANS) Taipei’s Jui-Chen Hung ousted eighth seeded Chandril Sood 6-3, 6-4, while the other top ranked players advanced smoothly into the third round of the ITF Men’s Futures tennis tournament here Wednesday.

Among the facile winners were the top seeded N. Sriram Balaji, winner of the previous event in Chennai, and his doubles partner Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan, the second seed.

Singles (second round): 2-Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan bt Tushar Mandlekar 6-0, 6-2; 7-Vignesh Peranamallur bt Ajai Selvaraj 6-2, 6-3; Abdullah Shaikh bt Fariz Mohammed 6-3, 6-1; 1-N Sriram Bajaji bt Vigneshwaran Ramesh 6-1, 7-6(5); Jui-Chen Hung (TPE) bt 8-Chandril Sood 6-3, 6-3; 4-Keith Patrick Crowley (RSA) bt Saurabh Patil 6-2, 6-2; 3-Vijayant Malik bt Neeraj Elangovan 6-1, 6-2; 5-Karunuday Singh bt Rakshit Rishi 6-2, 6-4.
