Shimla: An inquiry into grant of permission by the previous BJP regime to construction of an ultra-luxury housing project by a realtor here and other land deals has been completed, an official said here today.
“An additional district magistrate of Shimla, who looks after the revenue matters, has completed the findings and a report is being sent to the government for action,” Shimla Deputy Commissioner Dinesh Malhotra said in a statement.
He said besides the permission to construct apartments (to the DLF) in Bemloe in Shimla, the probe was conducted into a ‘benami’ – or illegal land transaction – in Rampur town, deal of British-era Bantony Estate near Scandal Point in Shimla and violation of land laws by APG University in Shimla.
The ruling Congress, when in the opposition, had been alleging that top state political functionaries were involved in illegal property transactions and were promoting realtors in the state.
