Cardiff, June 6 (IANS) India scored 331 for seven against South Africa in the opening match of the Champions Trophy at the Sophia Gardens here Thursday.
Shikhar Dhawan (114) and Rohit Sharma (65) shared a 127-run partnership for the first wicket. However, smart bowling by Ryan McLaren (3/70) and Lonwabo Tsotobe (2/83) pulled India back towards the fag-end of the innings.
Ravindra Jadeja played a crucial innings down the order scoring 47 off 29 balls.
South Africa captain AB de Villers won the toss and elected to bowl.
