Chandigar: Four children, aged seven to nine years, were buried alive under a wall that collapsed near where they were playing in Haryana, local authorities said Thursday.
The incident took place Wednesday evening in Chaushala village in Haryana’s Kaithal district, 130 km from here.
The families of the victims came to know about the incident much later only when the children did not return home.
“Ajay, Nutun, Sachin and Bhupinder, aged between seven and nine years, were playing near the wall when it collapsed on them. As the children did not return home, a search began and they were found buried under the debris,” a spokesman said here.
Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, who spoke to Kaithal Deputy Commissioner Chander Shekhar, sought a detailed report on the incident.
The bodies of the victims were handed over to the bereaved families Thursday after post-mortem.
