Chennai, June 2 (IANS) Even though magic tricks are merely illusions, what differentiates one magic trick from the other is the way it’s done. Likewise, films too are like magic tricks, and what differentiates a good film from a bad one is the way it’s presented, says Tamil actor Suriya Sivakumar.
“Today, each film needs to be different from the other because cinema is like magic tricks, and no two magic tricks can bear any similarities. If films and magic tricks are not done differently, then the outcome of both is likely to be disappointing,” Suriya told reporters here Sunday while pointing out that “Singam” and “Singam 2” are different from each other.
He was speaking at the audio launch of “Singam 2”, sequel to his Tamil blockbuster “Singam”.
“I know for a fact that “Singam” and “Singam 2″ barely have any similarities. It’s only the characters that are carried forward from the prequel, but the story is completely fresh and treads a new path,” he added.
Suriya will reprise the role of a policeman he originally played in the prequel.
Directed by Hari Gopalakrishnan, “Singam 2” also features Hansika Motwani, Anushka Shetty, Santhanam, Vivek, Nassar, Vijayakumar and Anjali.
The film is produced by Prince Pictures, while Devi Sri Prasad has composed the music.
