New Delhi, June 18 (IANS) Delhiites woke up to a pleasant weather Tuesday morning with overcast skies and light drizzle. The weatherman has forecast rain in parts of the city.
The minimum temperature settled at 23.5 degrees Celsius, five notches below the season’s average.
“The skies will remain cloudy with the possibility of rain and thundershowers,” an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said.
The maximum temperature will hover around 31 degrees Celsius.
The national capital received 17.1 mm of rain since Sunday 8.30 a.m to Monday 8.30 a.m.
Humidity recorded at 8.30 a.m. stood at 92 percent.
According to IMD, a total of 108.3 mm of rain has been recorded in Delhi, since the onset of monsoon Sunday.
The monsoon reached national capital, a fortnight ahead of schedule.
The monsoon this year had set over Kerala on schedule June 1 and advanced fast, covering the southern, eastern and central states within two weeks.
Monday’s maximum temperature dipped nine notches below average at 30.3 degrees Celsius, while the minimum settled five notches below average at 23.5 degrees Celsius.
