Deols set to create masti this weekend (IANS Preview)

New Delhi, June 4 (IANS) It seems that Punjabi tadka will rule the box office this weekend with heavy duty entertainment “Yamla Pagla Deewana 2” hitting the screens Friday.

The comedy drama, a sequel to 2011 movie “Yamla Pagla Deewana”, has taken the story to Britain this time and, unlike the previous film, only Sunny Deol will be seen in the turban-wearing avatar.

Directed by Sangeeth Sivan, the movie is already making a buzz because of its interesting trailers. A home production of the Deols, the film, made under Vijayta Films, also stars Dharmendra, Bobby Deol and Neha Sharma.

In the film, Dharmendra’s character launches “Yamla Pagla Deewana” club and the trio cook up loads of fun to entertain the audience.

Even though Sunny feels that lavish promotions are waste of time and money, he and his family have been promoting the film in the best possible manner.

“It has become more stressful of late. It’s a waste of money, waste of time, waste of everything! You can use that much of money making another film, how much you spend on public relations these days,” Sunny said in an interaction.

The movie also introduces Australian model-actress Kristina Akheeva, who plays a British girl, but does not want to get typecast as foreign girl in the film industry.

“I hope I don’t get typecast as half foreign, half Indian. I want to play traditional type of roles and get myself into a character where I can practice my Indian mannerisms and think like an Indian girl from some village,” she said.

Two more Deols are involved with the project – while Sunny’s wife Lynda came out with the story idea, his son worked as an assistant director on the film.

Watching three Deols work together in the same film is not new — they starred together in the 2007 hit movie “Apne”.

The music of the movie is composed by Sharib and Toshi and is a hit among lovers of fast-beat Punjabi numbers.
