New Delhi, June 19 (IANS) The Delhi High Court Wednesday suspended the government’s order to prohibit auto-rickshaw drivers from displaying advertisements and posters on their vehicles.
Appearing on behalf of auto drivers, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) activist and lawyer Prashant Bhushan stated before the court that the “government’s action was discriminatory against auto drivers” and was targeted at the AAP, whose posters have been put up on hundreds of auto-rickshaws in the city.
A division bench of Justice P.K. Bhasin and Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva blocked any coercive action against the auto-rickshaw drivers and posted the matter for July 8.
