Congress to expose Odisha government’s ‘failures’

Bhubaneswar, June 27 (IANS) Congress general secretary in-charge of Odisha B.K. Hariprasad Thursday said his party would soon prepare a “chargesheet” to expose the alleged failures of the state government led by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

Terming the alleged mining scam in the state as similar to what happened in Karnataka, the Congress leader said here that the investigation in Odisha had not been done properly.

He also urged the chief minister to seek a Central Bureau of Investigation probe into the mining scam.

Had it been done properly, many ministers of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) government would have been in jail, he said.

Accusing the state government of not doing enough on corruption, law and order situation and the latest chit fund scam, Hariprasad said the Congress would take the issues to the people in the days to come.

“Politics he (Naveen Patnaik) has inherited from his father, but he has failed as chief minister,” he told reporters in state capital Bhubaneswar, where he arrived for the first time after being assigned the new state Congress in-charge.
