New Delhi, June 16 (IANS) Gearing up for the general elections scheduled for 2014, the Congress Sunday made major organisational reshuffle, inducting former union ministers Ambika Soni, Ajay Maken and C.P. Joshi as general secretaries.
Maken will look after communications, publicity and publication, while Joshi will be in charge of the party’s affairs in Assam, Bihar, West Bengal and Andaman and Nicobar.
Vocal leader Digvijaya Singh was, meanwhile, shunted out from the charge of the party in Uttar Pradesh. He has been given the charge of Karnataka, Goa and Andhra Pradesh.
Party general secretary Janardan Dwivedi also announced the reconstituted Congress Working Committee, which now includes the newly inducted general secretaries.
The AICC reshuffle was announced a day before a cabinet reshuffle is scheduled.
