Kolkata, June 12 (IANS) Famed Brazilian Marco Antonio Falopa will be the head coach of East Bengal soccer team for 2013-14, the club announced Wednesday.
Sixty four-year-old Falopa holds a UEFA Pro Coaching License and has been coaching national sides and club teams of various countries since 1977.
He turned out for Brazilian clubs Palmeiras and Saad SC as a player before taking up coaching in 1977.
He has been the technical director of the national side of South Africa during the 2002 World Cup, besides coaching the Myanmarese national team as also the youth national squad of Oman.
He has also guided the Brazilain Masters national team, famed Brazilain club Santos FC, as also clubs in Italy, Japan, Cameroon, UAE, Bahrain and Qatar.
Falopa’s son Americo Falopa will be the goalkeeping and physical fitness coach.
