Allahabad, May 1 (IANS) A young girl, gang-raped by two men in a moving car in Allahabad two days ago, Wednesday said policemen and a government hospital’s woman doctor threatened her in an attempt to hush up the matter, police said.
Superintendent of Police (Crime) Arun Pandey said they had added additional charges in the first information report registered in the case and promised a probe into the role of the woman doctor and Uttar Pradesh policemen.
The girl said a woman doctor at Dufferin Hospital here threatened and beat her up to remain silent about the crime, police said.
The superintendent of police and a magistrate have recorded the statement of the victim in which she has alleged that policemen from Colonel Ganj area also asked her not to file a rape complaint.
The girl, a resident of Shivgarh, told police that the attackers dragged her into a moving car, drugged her and raped her Monday evening.
She said that after the incident they dumped her on the road from where she was taken to the hospital, police said.
