Lucknow, May 30 (IANS) A constable and a villager were killed during a shootout in Uttar Pradesh, police said Thursday.
The incident took place at Hathiyan village in Barsana area of Mathura late Wednesday. The police team was raiding a hideout of criminals engaged in illegal arms racket.
During the shootout one police constable was killed while a villager was killed when he was caught in the cross-fire, police said.
Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Agra Vijay Singh Meena told IANS that Babudeen, a villager, was critically wounded. He later died on his way to hospital.
