Beijing, May 5 (IANS) A knife-wielding man stabbed two people to death and injured another in Beijing, police said. The assailant also died from injuries suffered while resisting arrest.
The man attacked vehicle drivers and passengers with a knife near Guangqumen Bridge Saturday afternoon, Xinhua cited the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau as saying.
Of the three the man injured, two died at a hospital after emergency medical treatment failed. The third one was still under treatment.
The attacker was besieged inside a private car by police officers and citizens at the scene, but he was injured while wielding the knife to resist arrest.
The man was brought under control, but later died at a hospital.
The assailant was not identified.
