Moscow, May 20 (IANS/RIA Novosti) Police killed two suspected militants and detained another in a special operation outside Moscow Monday, preventing a terror attack in the capital, the National Anti-terrorism Committee said.
The special operation took place in Orekhovo-Zuyevo in the Moscow region.
“The militants were besieged in the course of a special operation, but opened fire after they were asked to surrender. Two of them were killed and another detained as a result of a rapid shootout,” the committee said.
One policemen was wounded in the operation.
The suspects were Russian citizens who had returned from the Afghanistan-Pakistan border region, where they underwent special training in preparing terror attacks, the commitee said.
