Los Angeles, May 20 (IANS) Singer Taylor Swift swept away the 2013 Billboard Music Awards. She won in eight categories, including the artist of the year and top female artist titles.
She also bagged awards for top country artist, top digital songs artist. Her album “Red” topped in the Billboard 200 and country albums categories; her “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” was named the top country song, reports billboard.com.
Swift’s ex-boyfriend Harry Styles’ band One Direction won three awards. Singer Justin Bieber also bagged three awards, and Rihanna won four awards – top radio songs artist, top R&B song, top R&B album, top R&B artist.
Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used To Know” swept four major song categories.
The 2013 Billboard Music Awards took place in Las Vegas Sunday night.
