Thiruvananthapuram, May 17 (IANS) The Kerala government Friday decided to drop the state lotteries’ advertisement featuring fast bowler S. Sreesanth.
State Finance Minister K.M. Mani said the decision was taken in the wake of Sreesanth’s arrest for alleged spot fixing.
“With the case now being registered, it has been decided to drop the advertisement that features Sreesanth,” Mani told reporters here.
Sreesanth, along with two fellow Rajasthan Royals players, was arrested Wednesday from Mumbai by Delhi Police for their alleged role in spot fixing certain matches in the present edition of the ongoing Indian Premier League for huge sums of money.
Sreesanth, who is only the second Keralite to represent the country, has played in 27 Tests taking 87 wickets, 53 ODIs (75 wickets) and 10 T20s (seven wickets).
