Pune, May 2 (IANS) Unseeded Pareen Shivekar and Utkarsh Bharadwaj continued their brilliant runs to reach the finals of the Girls and Boys singles, respectively, in the Om Dalvi Memorial ATF Asian Under-14 Series tennis tournament here Thursday.
In the semi-finals, Mumbai girl Shivekar saved two match points and eliminated fourth seeded Shivani Ingle 6-7(7-5), 7-6(7-4), 6-3 in a match that lasted over three hours.
Shivekar, who recorded a hat-trick of wins over seeded players, will now challenge second seeded Zeel Desai of Gujarat who trounced third seeded Sama Sathwika 6-3, 6-0.
In the boys singles, top seeded Parikshit Somani from Assam struggled to overcome Sumit Pal Singh 3-6, 6-0, 6-4 to set up a title clash with unseeded Utkarsh Bharadwaj who upset sixth seeded S Manish 5-7, 6-4, 6-4.
