New Delhi, May 2 (IANS) The Rajya Sabha was disrupted again Thursday as the BJP demanded the resignations of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Law Minister Ashwani Kumar and the Akali Dal took up the issue of Congress leader Sajjan Kumar being acquitted in a 1984 riots case.
As soon as the upper house met for the day at 11 a.m., members from the main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party were on their feet demanding that Manmohan Singh and Ashwani Kumar quit over irregularities in coal allotment.
Members from the Shiroman Akal Dal (SAD) were also up, protesting the acquittal of Sajjan Kumar by a Delhi court in a case related to the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.
Amidst the din, the upper house was adjourned till noon.
