Los Angeles, May 14 (IANS) Singer Justin Bieber managed to woo his fans in South Africa, but thieves stole cash from the venue after the concert.
Johannesburg’s FNB Stadium was robbed of more than $300,000 in cash after the concert, money reportedly from both Bieber’s show and Saturday night’s Bon Jovi concert, reports eonline.com.
“The suspect had gained entry through the roof,” enonline quoted Katlego Mogale, a spokeswoman for the Booysens police station in Soweto, as saying.
The South Africa-based entertainment promoter Big Concerts, however, refused to comment on the incident.
“In the interest of safety and security of our staff and in the light of an ongoing investigation, Big Concerts will not comment further on the incident,” said the promoter.
Bieber’s Believe world tour will resume June 22 in San Diego.
Happy with the unexpected break, the singer tweeted: “Glad to chill for a few days. Gonna take it easy. That was an amazing tour. Thanks to all the fans around the world. Grateful to all of u (you).”
