Pakistan’s interim cabinet to meet

Islamabad, May 15 (IANS) Pakistan’s interim federal cabinet is expected to meet later Wednesday to discuss the prevailing law and order situation in the country and objections being raised by various political parties following the recent general elections, Geo News reported .

The cabinet, led by caretaker Prime Minister Mir Hazar Khan Khoso, would discuss budget proposals, law and order and the energy situation, said a spokesperson for the prime minister.

Various political parties have alleged irregularities in the May 11 polls and the Pakistan Election Commission, too, has ordered repolling at several polling stations.

But the Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has demanded fresh polls in the entire National Assembly constituency NA-250 Karachi and rejected the election commission’s directive for re-polling in selective polling stations only.
