Kolkata, May 13 (IANS) The National Stock Exchange (NSE) Monday said it recorded a traded value of Rs.691 crore in gold exchange traded funds (ETFs) this Akshaya Tritiya, up by nearly 14 percent compared to last year.
Last year during Akshaya Tritiya, the exchange had recorded a traded value of Rs.608 crore in gold ETFs.
Number of units of gold ETFs traded Monday were 26,98,610 units, an increase of more than 14 percent from 23,60,000 units traded last year, according to a release here.
Gold ETFs perform the role of stabilising a portfolio and protect an investor against market fluctuations, it added.
