New Delhi, May 13 (IANS) The United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government Monday came out with a multi-media catalogue of India’s development in the last nine years.
The “Glimpses of the India Story”, released by Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari, is aimed at underscoring the impact of policy decisions at the ground level for inclusive growth and participatory governance within the rights framework.
The multi-media initiative would be put across on television, radio, print and outdoor publicity with the objective of informing and appraising the public to encourage greater participation in these efforts.
These initiatives would place in perspective the government’s journey for promoting cohesion and compassion through equitable growth and social inclusion which has permeated across all sections of society, Tewari said.
The minister added that the tangible progress achieved in key sectors such as education, health, telecom, rural and urban infrastructure and basic civic amenities have led to a greater sense of confidence among the people, particularly the youth.
The milestones and turning points have been captured in a TV spot conversation in a railway compartment among a group of people from various strata of society.
The initiative will also encapsulate real life stories based on the human development agenda of the government which has touched people and transformed their lives.
It will be disseminated in 11 regional languages across the country in order to reach out to the poor and the most marginalized people in all corners of the country.
