New Delhi, May 20 (IANS) The mercury is set to cross the 45 degrees Celsius mark in Delhi Monday, the hottest day of the season so far, the Met Office said. The heat wave conditions is likely to get worse in coming days.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the minimum temperature was 29.3 degrees Celsius, three notches above average for this time of the season.
“The weather will continue to remain hot and the heat wave conditions are likely to prevail over Delhi for the next few days,” the IMD official said.
Humidity recorded at 8.30 a.m. was 31 percent.
Delhi saw its hottest day of the season Sunday with the mercury at 44.6 degrees Celsius, five notches above average. Monday is expected to be hotter still.
