New Delhi, May 4 (IANS) Shocked at the death of promising national archer Promita Boro, Archery Association of India (AAI) president Vijay Kumar Malhotra, who is also the acting president of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), demanded a thorough investigation by the Army Sports Institute (ASI) in Pune.
Malhotra told IANS that he has demanded a thorough enquiry into Pratima’s suicide.
“AAI will like to have the inquiry report from the concerned authority at the ASI at the earliest. I am surprised why she took such a step. It is very sad,” Malhotra told IANS here Saturday.
Pratima allegedly committed suicide during the national camp in Pune. Malhotra said the death of Pratima is a great loss for the entire archery fraternity in the country.
“Pratima was one of the rising stars of Indian archery and the sport has lost a great talent. He was a very disciplined archer,” said Malhotra.
