Guwahati, May 31 (IANS) A major fire broke out at the Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) in Assam’s Golaghat district Friday morning. No casualties were reported so far, officials said.
“A fire broke out at one of the crude distillation units (CDU) of the refinery today (Friday) around 5.30 a.m. It is a major incident but there is no human causality,” said a spokesperson of the refinery.
“A high-level inquiry panel has been formed to ascertain the cause of the fire and to estimate the damage,” the spokesperson said.
