Berlin, May 12 (IANS) After long speculation of the media, Jens Keller finally agreed with Schalke on a two-year deal, the club confirmed on its official homepage.
Schalke and coach Jens Keller bring speculations to an end as the 42-year-old coach put pen to paper on a deal until 2015, reports Xinhua.
“Contrary to many resistors, also from the public, Jens Keller followed his consistent and enduring line to bring Schalke back on track in the Bundesliga,” Schalke manager Horst Heldt said in an official statement Saturday.
Keller replaced Huub Stevens in December 2012 as the club slumped from second to seventh position.
Heldt added: “We are convinced of his work because we have registered a further development of our team in recent months despite staff shortages.”
The “Knappen” sit currently in fourth, on course for another year in UEFA Champions League.
