Ranchi, May 14 (IANS) The CBI Tuesday arrested industrialist R.K. Agrawal, who contested the 2012 Rajya Sabha poll as an independent candidate. The poll was countermanded by the Election Commission after Rs.2.15 crore in cash was recovered allegedly from Agrawal’s vehicle.
A CBI official said Agrawal was presented in court and was sent to 14 days’ judicial custody. The official said the CBI would seek his remand for interrogation.
Agrawal had earlier got bail. When the high court rapped the probe agency early this month, his bail was cancelled by the CBI court last week.
