Vienna, May 15 (IANS) The IAEA will continue trying to finalize nuclear inspection documents regarding Iran’s disputed nuclear programme in spite of differences between the two sides, an official said Wednesday.
Herman Nackaerts, deputy director-general of the International Atomic Energy Agency, said his team was starting a new round of talks with Iran in Vienna over a nuclear inspection framework to conduct investigations into “possible military dimensions”.
“As you know differences remain but we are committed to dialogue, and we are determined to solve these issues so we will be working hard today to resolve the differences,” Xinhua quoted Nackaerts as saying.
The two sides failed to make progress in meetings over the last year.
Western officials doubt Iran is committed to finalizing the framework with the agency, while Iran says it is serious about finding a resolution.
