Los Angeles, May 23 (IANS) Hollywood actor Jesse Eisenberg says he got confidence to perform the tricks of an illusionist in his forthcoming film “Now You See Me” by watching his mother.
“My mother was like a hippy clown. She did folk songs at children parties. She was like a great performer and I grew up in a house of somebody who was like a confident performer. She was really great in front of an audience and my character is really good,” Eisenberg said in a statement.
Directed by Louis Leterrieris, the film features Eisenberg as a magician who, along with his three group members, performs in front of an international audience and carries out a series of heists.
The Four Horsemen – a group led by the charismatic Atlas (played by Eisenberg) – perform a pair of high-tech, high-profile magic shows exposing a white-collar criminal and funnelling his millions into the audience bank accounts, baffling the authorities with their techniques.
The film also stars Mark Ruffalo, Mélanie Laurent, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman.
PVR Pictures is set to release the film in India June 7.
