Himachal BJP submits memo against UPA

Shimla, May 4 (IANS) A Himachal Pradesh BJP delegation Saturday met Governor Urmila Singh here and demanded the removal of the Congress-led UPA government at the centre for its alleged involvement in scams.

The BJP delegation, comprising Rajya Sabha member Balbir Punj and former chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, met the governor and submitted a memorandum to her.

“All the top government functionaries involved in scams, including Law Minister Ashwani Kumar, must resign or be sacked,” Dhumal told reporters here.

The memorandum, addressed to President Pranab Mukherjee, highlighted alleged scams ranging from 2G to the coal block allocation.

“The joint parliamentary committee’s (JPC) clean chit for Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Finance Minister P. Chidambaram in the 2G scam also figured in the memorandum,” a party leader said.
