‘Go Goa Gone’ made in lesser budget than Saif’s usual films

Mumbai, May 3 (IANS) Filmmaker Krishna D.K., who is awaiting the release of his zombie comedy film “Go Goa Gone”, says the budget of the film is much lesser than any of Saif Ali Khan “kind of films”.

The movie is produced by Illuminati Films, co-owned by Saif, who has also acted in the movie.

“I would say the budget of the film is very low. I am not allowed to reveal the budget of the film, but I can assure you that this film is made in much lesser budget than any Saif kind of films,” Krishna told IANS.

“We have worked in a very controlled budget. Besides, each and every actor charged less than their market price,” he added.

Krishna has co-directed the movie with Raj Nidimoru. The filmmakers are experimenting with a zombie film for the first time, and they believe the audience today is ready to accept various genres.

“We wanted to experiment with something new, we knew it’s a very unusual concept and these days, audience are ready to accept different kind of films. In fact, we thought it would not be easy to get actors for this film but luckily Saif was convinced then the things fell in place,” said Krishna.

The film also features Kunal Kemmu, Vir Das and Puja Gupta. It is slated to release May 10.
