Moscow, May 23 (IANS/RIA Novosti) A farmer in south Russia allegedly chained up an employee and scalded him with boiling water, police said.
The alleged victim in Krasnodar territory told investigators that he had worked for the farmer for a certain period of time, but when he decided to leave, unsatisfied with his working conditions, his former employer caught him.
“The victim says the farmer hunted him down and put him on a chain, and from time to time his ‘master’ scalded him with boiling water from a kettle as punishment for his decision to leave,” police said in a statement.
A medical examination revealed that the man had burns and bruises on his body, police added.
A probe has been launched to decide whether a criminal case should be filed on charges of illegal deprivation of liberty.
