New Delhi, May 27 (IANS) The capital’s sky turned cloudy Monday, which began on a scorching note with the maximum temperature shooting up two notches above average at 42.6 degrees Celsius. Dust-storm and Lightning and are expected Tuesday, weatherman said.
While the minimum temperature settled three notches above what is the average for this time of the season at 30.2 degree Celsius, humidity wavered between a high of 44 and low of 30 percent.
Earlier, parts of east Delhi had light showers early Monday morning, recording 0.4 mm of rain, an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
“Tuesday is expected to see dust-storm and lightning,” the official added.
Tuesday’s maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 44 and 30 degrees respectively.
Sunday’s maximum temperature was 43.6 degrees Celsius, three notches above average. The minimum was 29.3 degrees Celsius, two notches above average.
