Chennai, May 24 (IANS) Gurunath Meiyappan, the chief of IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings and son-in-law of Indian cricket board president N. Srinivasan, is expected to appear before Mumbai police Friday evening.
Meiyappan’s advocate P.S.Raman will also be reaching Mumbai from here Friday evening.
A source told IANS: “Meiyappan will be flying out of Madurai while Raman from Chennai.”
A team of Mumbai police led by investigating officer Nandkumar Gopale served the orders on Thursday at the Chennai residence of Meiyappan.
Meiyappan was not available at his residence Thursday and his whereabouts were not known though it was rumoured that he was in Kodaikanal, which is around 520 km from here.
The Mumbai police had turned down Meiyappan’s request to present himself before them Monday.
