Bollywood music global, says Karsh Kale

Mumbai, May 12 (IANS) International composer-singer Karsh Kale feels Bollywood has become global as musicians here use the same tunes and sounds as other pop music of the world.

Apart from playing for Coke Studio, Kale has albums like “Realize”, “Broken English” and “Cinema” to his credit.

“I think Bollywood has gone international. It is like pop music. The music is all the same everywhere except for the language. I think it has gone global on that level,” he told IANS.

An expert in creating fusion music, he said that “every kind of music is fusion music”.

“It evolves from something else. Every thing, which people think is pure, is actually not. It has evolved from something else. There is so much rock music out there, which is actually fusion. For me, it is more like a continuous evolution of music,” he added.

Ready to release his new album in August, Kale performed at the Strangebrew concert Saturday and belted out songs from his upcoming album.

“Right now I am concentrating only on my new album. It will be coming out in August,” he said and confessed to have the best time of his career.

“I think right now I am having a great time. It is exciting to write new stuff,” he said.
