New Delhi, May 30 (IANS) It was another hot and sunny day in the capital Thursday with the maximum temperature settling at 40.4 degrees Celsius – average for this time of the year. The Met Office has forecast similar weather Friday.
“Similar weather is expected Friday. The sky will be clear and the maximum and minimum temperatures will hover around 42 and 27 degrees Celsius,” an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said.
Thursday’s minimum temperature was a notch above average at 27.8 degrees Celsius. The maximum humidity was 55 percent.
The maximum temperature Wednesday was two notches above average at 42.8 degrees Celsius, while the minimum settled a notch above average at 27.8 degrees Celsius.
The city has been witnessing soaring temperatures for the past two weeks with the maximum settling two-to-five notches above the season’s average.
