New Delhi, April 18 (IANS) A 26-year-old woman was found strangled to death at her house in the city, police said Thursday, and indicated her husband was a prime suspect since his statements in the matter were inconsistent.
The woman, a resident of west Delhi’s Swaroop Nagar, was reportedly found dead around 10.30 p.m. by her husband Sunil.
The woman, identified as Rakhi, has two children — a seven-year-old daughter and a five-year-old son.
A police officer said the husband reported to have found his wife dead in bed.
An initial medical examination showed that the woman had died at least seven hours before the police were informed, the officer said, adding that a post-mortem examination was being conducted on the body.
“We are questioning her husband on the basis of suspicion as he has been changing his statement,” the police officer said.
