Kolkata, April 9 (IANS) Attacking the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi said Tuesday it was at a standstill and no development work was taking place in the country.
Addressing the business community from Bengal here, Modi said the central government is discriminating between UPA and non-UPA ruled states.
“The UPA government in Delhi has been sitting on all development projects and no development work is on for the last two years. The central machinery is at a standstill,” said Modi.
Emphasising that West Bengal is also being discriminated against like Gujarat, Modi said: “The government is discriminating between UPA and non-UPA ruled states. It is time states raise their voice against discrimination by the central government.”.
He said India’s federal structure is being overlooked by the UPA.
“The UPA government doesn’t even bother to open pending files and is not even worried about anything. UPA government is like an ailing man with an eye on the clock, not the calendar,” he said.
“In Gujarat, I spent 10 years in filling potholes which the Congress created … here, they (Left government) made potholes for 30 years but the present (Mamata Banerjee-led) government is going in right direction,” he said.
