Doha, April 9 (IANS/WAM) The UAE has called on the international community to devise strategies and plans for development and reconstruction in Sudan’s Darfur region.
Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, the minister of development and international cooperation, told the Darfur donor conference here that the UAE had offered $882 million in development, relief and humanitarian aid to Sudan.
In her address to the two-day international meeting read on her behalf by Jassim Al Qasimi, the director of economic affairs, Sheikha Lubna said the UAE was one of the key donors of Sudan.
UAE, she added, was also investing in several economic sectors in Sudan.
