Agra, April 25 (IANS) Two people were killed and another was injured Thursday in a mortar blast in a scrap godown here, police said.
The incident took place in Gobar Chowki area. The scrap market is about 5 km from the Taj Mahal complex. The police has ruled out any terrorism angle in the incident.
The police is probing how the mortar reached the scrap dealer’s godown.
“The probe is continuing. A first information report (FIR) under the Explosives Act will be registered,” an officer said.
Intelligence agencies were trying to find out from where the scrap dealer procured the consignment that contained mortar shells. A few years ago, a similar explosion had killed two people in the same area.
