Teenager falls to death in Lucknow shopping mall

Lucknow, April 16 (IANS) A 17-year-old class Xth student fell to his death from the second floor of a shopping mall here Tuesday, police said.

The incident happened at the Saharganj mall in the heart of the city in the evening when Pranjal, along with some friends and relatives went to visit the mall.

While he and his friend Vivek went to the second floor for some shopping, the other two friends, Santosh and Sagar, remained on the ground floor.

After some time, when the friends sitting on the ground floor asked Pranjal to come back, he could not hear it properly and came close to the railing and tripped to the ground floor.

He fell over his friend Sagar who too was injured. As soon as the youngster fell, the security personnel deployed at the mall rushed to his aide and took him to the trauma centre where he died at 10.30 p.m., police said.

Vinod Singh, police officer in charge of Saharaganj, told IANS that the deceased had recently written the class Xth exam.

The body has been sent for autopsy and his relatives informed of the tragedy, he further informed.
