Chennai, April 30 (IANS) The Tamil Nadu government has decided to levy entertainment tax on all Champions League T-20 cricket matches to be held here later this year.
A bill to amend the Tamil Nadu Entertainment Tax Act to enable imposition of the tax on Champions League cricket matches was introduced in the assembly Tuesday by Commercial Taxes and Registration Minister B.V. Ramana.
Earlier, the government had also decided to bring the Indian Premier League (IPL) matches held here within the ambit of entertainment tax.
