New Delhi, April 9 (IANS) Realtor Nitesh Bhardwaj, son of billionaire BSP leader Deepak Bhardwaj, has been arrested for his father’s murder along with an advocate-cum-property dealer here, police said Tuesday.

Nitesh, in his 30s, is Bhardwaj’s younger son.

He and his aide, advocate Baljeet Singh Sherawat, were arrested around 2 p.m. here for the March 26 murder of Deepak Bhardwaj.

“We had detained Nitesh Sunday for questioning and arrested him around 2 p.m. when he revealed his involvement,” said a police officer.

With this, six people have been arrested for their involvement in the murder.

Deepak Bhardwaj was gunned down by hired killers Sunil Mann alias Sonu and Purushottam Rana alias Monu at his 35-acre farmhouse ‘The Nitesh’ in south Delhi.

They were arrested with Amit, the driver of the Skoda car used in the crime.

Rakesh alias Bhola, the owner of the car used by the killers, has also been arrested.

“Nitesh had given a Rs.5 crore contract to Baljeet, who contacted Swami Pratibhanand and gave him Rs.5 lakh to have Bhardwaj killed,” said Chhaya Sharma, deputy commissioner of police.

“Pratibhanand contacted the shooters Purushottam and Sunil and gave them an advance of Rs.3.50 to Rs.4 lakh, which was used to arrange the car, weapons and ammunition for the murder,” Sharma said.
