Raipur, April 11 (IANS) Seven new Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) will come up in Chhattisgarh in 2013-14 to promote technical education, a minister said Thursday.
“Technical education has been given priority to create self-employment in the state,” Higher Education and Technical Education Minister Ramvichaar Netam told reporters here.
He added that the state had only 44 ITIs when it was formed in 2000. This will now rise to 125.
The new ITIs will be established at Deobhog (Gariaband district), Daundi (Balod), Baikunthpur (Koriya), Ramchandrapur (Balrampur-Ramanujganj), Saraipali (Mahasamund), Paamgarh (Janjgir-Champa) and Pandariya Kabeerdham (Kawardha).
