New Delhi, April 6 (IANS) Virender Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh and Zaheer Khan have not been included in the probables list for the ICC Champions Trophy in England from June 6 to 23.
Sehwag, who was overlooked for the ODI series against England, has not found a place in the BCCI’s list of 30 probables for the last edition of the Champions Trophy. The explosive batsman was also dropped for India’s last two Tests against Australia.
Harbhajan last played an ODI in June 2011 and appears to be past his prime. The off-spinner also did not play the last two Tests against Australia.
Another exclusion from the list is of veteran pacer Zaheer, who has not played an international game since the Kolkata Test against England in December.
Cheteswar Pujara and Pragyan Ojha, who did well in the Tests against Australia, have also failed to make the cut.
Shikhar Dhawan has been rewarded for his 187 on debut against Australia in Mohali Test and is in contention for a place in the final squad to be announced next month.
The other players named in the list are Praveen Kumar, Irfan Pathan, Unmukt Chand and wicket-keepers Dinesh Karthik and Wriddhiman Saha.
